The club is happy to correct the record in relation to the scorer of our second goal in the 3-0 away at Phoenix in December. Following an appeal and a careful assessment of the relevant facts, the goal has been awarded to Harry Crowe, and not James O'Neill as was mistakenly reported at the time.
The correction leaves Crowe on a sensational tally of 19 goals for the season so far, from 18 appearances, closing in on Mark Sullivan's total of 21 from 26 games in 2012/13, and the Seaford Rock record (post-1997) of 23, by Eugene Duff in 2002/03. Club historians are now sifting through dog-eared records to identify the all-time record (dating back to the founding of Seaford FC in 1971) UPDATE: It has been confirmed that the all-time record for a single season is 33, by Noel McCreery in 1972/73. UPDATE II: It has been pointed out that when goals in all matches (not just first team matches) are included, the modern record is held by Dan Kiely, who netted 24 times in the 2013/4 season.
