A big weekend for the club as, for the first time in the club's history, the Majors will take to the field in the last 64 of the FAI Junior Cup.
It's the first stage of the country's largest amateur competition which features a fully open draw, and it couldn't have handed a tougher tie to the Penguins, as we head west to take on Crumlin United. The hosts have been thoroughly dominant in the top flight of the LSL's Saturday section in recent seasons, and look well on course to claiming yet another title, with eight wins from ten in their league campaign so far. But after a tough start to the campaign in the division below, Alan Burns's men have been in strong form themselves, undefeated in eight, mostly recently with a comeback win over Portmarnock. That run of form has also seen them negotiating the first three rounds of the FAI Junior, as they followed up a comprehensive win over last season's champions Usher Celtic, with an impressive victory against a strong Lucan United side and most recently a late goal from Al Kennedy secured a nail-biting win against our old foes Kilnamanagh. The big game has a 3.00pm kick-off in Pearse Park, Crumlin. Earlier on Saturday, Paulie Morris's Premiers face Balbriggan for the second time in recent weeks. The same sides played out a 1-1 draw in North Dublin last month, and Seaford will be looking to turn some encouraging recent performances into wins as their league campaign nears its conclusion. Kick off is 12.00pm at Rockfield Park.

The Majors played out a cagey encounter away at Home Farm, with a battling defensive display earning a 0-0 draw, extending their unbeaten to run to seven matches , during which they have conceded only three times. Full match report is available here. The Premiers were involved in a thriller away at Larkview Boys as the momentum swung one way and then the other during a flurry of late goals , eventually finishing in a 3-3 draw. Man-of-the-match Killian Campion netted his first two Seaford goals before Cian McCabe added to his growing catalogue of spectacular strikes late on. Read all about it here. |
