Match Report: Tolka Rovers 1-1 Seaford Rock United
LSL Major 1B
A draw was a fair outcome after an uneventful match in Drumcondra.
Tolka largely controlled possession but neither side created an abundance of chances. Their winger James Callan hit the post early on, but it was Seaford who struck first on 31 minutes. Mark Sullivan created the chance with a right wing cross, and although Kohei Masaki's effort was blocked, Darragh Connolly was on hand to tap in the opening goal.
The home side levelled late in the half when Callan cut infield and found the corner of the net from 20 yards.
In the second half, the reds' best chance fell to Mickey Murray, who glanced his header just wide after Joey McDonnell's cross, but Seaford had a golden chance to snatch the three points in the final minute when Chris Monk put Peter Tierney though on goal, but the substitute's shot was just the wrong side of the post, so it finished 1-1, just as it had done when the sides met earlier in the campaign.
Seaford: Simon McGinty, Steve Kane (Fionn Geoghegan, 75), Ian Nolan, Adam Finnegan (Jim Nolan, 81), Alan Brennan, David Higgins, Neil Harrington (Peter Tierney, 75), Chris Monk, Darragh Connolly (Paul Tansey, 88), Mark Sullivan, Kohei Masaki (Garrett Connolly, 63) . Goals: D Connolly (31)
