Match Report: Terenure Rangers 1-2 Seaford Rock United
LSL Saturday Premier
Seaford secured a smash-and-grab victory at the Terenure Sports Club courtesy of Shane Halpin's last-minute winner.
The hosts made a bright start and danger-man Jamie O'Rourke hit the post twice within the first six minutes with two strikes from range, before Seaford grew into the game, with Conor Geoghegan testing Gavin Moore with a low shot after a skilful nutmeg.
And the Penguins hit the front 29 when Geoghegan found Eoin McArdle bursting forward from right back, and he smashed home at the near post to record his first ever Seaford goal.
The visitors were indebted to Oisin Geoghegan for a sensational double save to deny Christy Burns, and the same man crashed a header off the bar late in the half.
The Seaford woodwork continued to lead a charmed life after the break, with Alan Cleary firing off the post after being laid in by Shane Clarke, before Terenure finally levelled midway though the half as Clarke beat several opponents before yet again doinking the upright, but substitute Steve Thompson was on hand to tap in the rebound.
It looks like it would end in a share of the spoils until the last minute of regulation time, when another Conor Geoghegan through-ball released Halpin who managed to lift the ball over Moore, sparking jubilant scenes.
