Match Report: St Mochtas 4-0 Seaford Rock United
LSL Saturday Major 1

Seaford began their Major 1 campaign with a defeat on the northside, as a hugely talented Mochtas side ran riot in the second half.
With a number of the squad having missed large chunks of pre-season , there was always a risk that Alan Burns's side would struggle to last the pace set by the slick Mochtas outfit, and so it proved, as the Penguins competed well during the first half, but ran out of steam after the break, and were punished by some scintillating finishing.
The home side made the running in the early stages, with Niall Connellan testing Oisin Geoghegan with a strike from range before their two star men, Oliver Dunne and Gareth McCaffrey, exchanged passes to work an openining, but Dunne fired wide.
At the other end, Dave Lewis went slose with a rasping drive, and Paul Tansey almost netted directly from a corner, with Mark Osborne raecting prilliantly to claw the ball away from the top corner of his goal.
The closest Mochtas came to breaking the deadlock was when McCaffrey curled a low shot inches past the post just before the break, but a couple of quick goals early in the second half put them in charge of the match.
First Dunne's ferocious strike was parried by Geoghegan, and Dean Maguire fired home the reboud, before Dunne unleashed an absolutely incredible left-footed strike from 25 yards that gave the Seaford stopper no chance.4
Connellan curled home a third to put the outcome beyond doubt on 72, and although Seaford rallied well with the introduction of several substitutes, Mochtas made it four through the irrepressible McCaffrey late on, as the leading marksman in amateur football somehow controlled the ball with his trailing back heel, before gently lobbing Geoghegan to complete the scoring.,
Seaford deserved a goal for their efforts and should have had one when Chris Monk met an Al Kennedy under the shadow of the crossbar, but somehow the ball didn't go in for the Penguins, who will play worse this season and come home with the points, provided they don't come up against the same level of individual quality
