Match Report: Seaford Rock United 2-2 FC Transylvania
LSL Premier Saturday
It was a frustrating afternoon for Paulie Morris's men as they conceded a late equaliser to draw a scrappy encounter against the Romanian ex-pats.
On a difficult surface at Rockfield Park, it was a game where both sides showed a lot more industry off the ball than quality on it, wit Alex Danca testing Oisin Geoghegan with a long range free-kick, and Aaron Clarke having a couple of sighters for Seaford.
Dez Eiffe scored the opening goal, finishing brilliantly after Mate Salacan had laid him in, but he suffered a bad injury in the process after being cleaned out by Ionut Danca, and he was unable to continue.
Neither side created much of note until midway though the second half, when Danca made a fine double-stop to keep out efforts from Francis Mulhall and Shane Halpin, and moments later Transylvania levelled when Balint fired past Geoghegan unopposed while Seaford looked for an offside call.
The Penguins re-took the lead after a short corner, with Eoin Kenny converting Eoin McArdle's cross, but the hosts weren't able to hold on for three points, as Victor Mihai's 88th minute free kick found the the corner of the net to earn Transylvania a point.
Seaford:, Oisin Geoghegan, Eoin McArdle, David Mackey, Steve Kane, Gavin Walsh, Mate Salacan. Ciaran Staunton (Al Kennedy, 72) Aaron Clarke (Francis Mulhall, 70) Desmond Eiffe (Eoin Kenny, 34), Alejandro Vergara (Shane Halpin, 6) (Eoin Dunne, 82), Collie Barrett
