Match Report: Seaford Rock United 2-0 Pegasus St James's Athletic
LSL Saturday Premier 1
Seaford's Premiers maintained their unbeaten home record for 2019 with another win and clean sheet against Pegasus.
Having suffered an unlucky away defeat to St Michael's a week previously, Eoin Dunne's were on top for most of the game, even if they had to wait until the second half until they sealed the three points. Powerful midfield duo Oli Wright and David Higgins largely ran the game for the hosts, backed up by a pair of Clare men at centre back, in recent signing Terry Dougan and returning legend Caoimhin Fahy.
Higgins opened the scoring when he drilled a low free kick into the corner of the net, giving the keeper no chance, before Stephen Canavan powered home a diving header from a brilliant whipped cross from fullback Eoin Mahon to make it 2-0.
Seaford host Larkview Boys on Saturday looking to continue their strong start to the season.
Seaford: Robbie Moran, Eoin Mahon, David Mackey, Terry Dougan, Caoimhin Fahy, Oli Wright, David Higgins, Conan Murphy, Brian Mullally (Eoin Dunne), Coly McCarron (Carl Doyle), Stephen Canavan (Darragh Roche)
