Match Report: Seaford Rock United 1-5 Kilmore Celtic
LSL Premier Superleague Group B
Kilmore Celtic outclassed Seaford during the second half to secure a handsome win at Rockfield Park.
It was Seaford who hit the front when Dave Lewis met a brilliant Mate Salacan delivery with a diving header that gave Dean Weldridge no chance, and shortly after Lewis put Colin Barrett through on goal only for Weldridge to rush off his line and deny him.
Kilmore leveled on 35 minutes with a free kick and in the second half they stepped up a level to dominate proceedings. They took the lead when a ricochet fell to Dylan Perry near the penalty spot and the substitute set himself up to hook the ball over his head and into the net , and Gavin Keane made it 3-1 with a bullet header from a corner.
Barrett was close to pulling one back for the Penguins , his left footed shot inches wide, but I was game over when Perry rounded Gavin Nugent to add a fourth and the same man set up Peter for another late on.
Seaford battled until the end and nearly had something to show for it late on when Alex Sinnott selflessly teed up Eoin McArdle, who nodded off-target. The three points out Kilmore Celtic in a commanding position at the top of Group B.
