Match Report: Seaford Rock United 1-0 Glebe North
LSL Major 1 Saturday

An injury time winner from substitute Shane Gilroy snatched all three points for Seaford in an evenly fought contest with Glebe North.
In blustery conditions at Rockfield Park, the Penguins had the first opening after a well-worked move saw Conor Geoghegan spread the play to Darragh Roche who put Chris Monk in down the wing, the leggy Scot doing brilliantly to dig out a cross, which Ryan Scollard met at the near post, but was unable to beat the keeper.
Midway through the half, Glebe’s dangerous wingers combined well, but Ryan Risshe fired over after meeting Ryan Edmondson’s cross.
Seaford finished the half strongly, with MJ Tierney forcing Aaron Keinan into a spectacular save from a trademark free-kick, before Geoghegan burst through a challenge and blasted at goal, only for Keinan to save again.
A pair of red cards shown shortly after half time was met with astonishment by both teams and led to a bitty second half. Glebe ought to have opened the scoring on 55, but Oisin Geoghegan produced a sensational point-blank save to deny Peter Dunne.
Penguins gaffer Alan Burns introduced English Dave Lewis as an emergency target man and he almost had an instant impact, nodding down a sumptuous Tierney ping for Monk, who couldn’t quite produce the finish.
After Glebe were reduced to nine, and again it looked an extraordinarily soft decision, Seaford really began to ratchet up the pressure. Tierney hit an even better free kick, but Keinan made an even more brilliant save, and then Sam Browne fluffed his lines from six yards, heading over from Al Kennedy’s long throw.
It looked like time had run out on the Penguins, but as the clock ticked into stoppage time, Eddie Xiang found Browne who laid Gilroy in , and the Sligo man held his nerve to slot home his first ever Majors goal and secure the win
