Match Report: Seaford Rock United 0-2 Larkview Boys
LSL Saturday Premier
Seaford slipped to a first home defeat of the campaign after being punished for a limp display against promotion-chasing Larkview Boys.
It was almost a dream start for the Penguins, as Oli Wright met a Mate Salacan corner at the back post only to see his header rebound from the post. Larkview hit the woodwork themselves when Eoin Buckley met Matias McDonagh's cross at the back-post, nodding back for Daniel O'Reilly who hit the post from close range, and moments later Stephen Kelly blocked Carl Malony's on the goalline.
The visitors broke the deadlock early in the second half., It was an ugly affair involving a series of ricochets after another McDonagh delivery, with Philip Cullen claiming the final touch,
Seaford struggled to make much headway, although Gavin Walsh tested Sean Patchell with a measured left-footed effort from Eddie Xiang's pass. Larkview hadn't created much either until they doubled their lead on 78, as Moloney set up O'Reilly for a simple finish as Seaford went to sleep in the expectation of winning a free kick,
Brian Murphy went close with a driven shot from range and Kelly was just off-target late on but in truth Larkview's clean sheet was rarely threatened and they took the points to maintain their strong recent run.
Seaford: Oisin Geoghegan, Eoin McArdle (Eoin Dunne 86), Brian Murphy, Oli Wright, Guy King-Hall, (Eddie Xiang, 68) Gavin Walsh, Stephen Kelly, Mate Salacan (Ciaran Staunton, 78), Dez Eiffe (David O'Callaghan, 59) Shane Gilroy (Aaron Clarke, 78),, Shane Halpin
