Match Report: Seaford FC 4-1 Raheny United
LFA Junior Cup, First Round
Seaford eased into the second round of the LFA Cup after coming from behind to see off Raheny United with a dominant second-half display.
The Penguins weren’t at their best during the first half and ought to have fallen behind early on when Cathal Keane crossed for Jake Kearney, who could only head tamely at Oisin Geoghegan from inside the six yard box.
At the other end Michael Akingbade had keeper Nathan Greer at full stretch with a curling effort and Darragh Roche was unlucky not to convert with a header after a brilliant run to the back post , but it was the visitors who took the lead against the run of play when Stephen Kane pounds on an error, playing a one-two with Like Higgins before tapping in.
It was long long before Seaford were level, when Peter Bardon converted at the back post after Jack Keegan had cleverly flicked on a Darragh Connolly corner, and early in the second half the the the around was complete when Keegan picked out Akingbade, who cut inside and found the top corner.
Tomo Murphy made it 3-1 with a composed finish after his cousin Brian Murphy’s effort was blocked , and Seaford took complete control of the match after the visitors were reduced to ten.
After seeing a few chances go begging, the Penguins eventually added a fourth in stoppage time when two substitutes combined, with Ran Tao crossing for Niall Holleran to head home and complete the scoring
