Match Report: Seaford FC 3-1 Ballyfermot United
LSL Saturday Major 1C
A brace from Ciaran Staunton helped a new-look Seaford side secured all three points in their first home match of the season.
There were no fewer than six debuts in all, plus three more players who were handed their first ever starts, but the team showed remarkable cohesion and resilience to claim the victory.
The Penguins fell behind late in the first half when Liam French smashed the ball into the roof if the net after the home defence failed to deal with a corner, but drew level shortly after the break when Craig Conlon met Mate Salacan delivery with the merest flick of the head to bag his first ever Seaford goal.
Staunton gave Seaford the lead on 66 when he got his head to an Oussama Belghazi cross to find the back of the net, and the big forward made the points safe when he converted a penalty he won himself.
Seaford: Luke Ginnell, Aaron Clarke (Marco Tsoinyane, 81), Craig Conlon, Conor Cooney, Antonio Perez, Mate Salacan (Jamie Thompson, 71), Greg Hughes, Timi Silva (Cormac McLoughlin, 61), Oussama Belghazi, Chenghao Liu (Espoire Lutete, 60), Ciaran Staunton (Joaquin Sanchez, 81)
