Seaford FC 1-2 Leixlip United
LSL Major 1

A hammer blow to Seaford’s survival prospects as Leixlip bagged a late winner.
The Penguins were exceptionally good for the first quarter of the match and Jack Keegan had already been inches from opening the scoring before Michael Akingbade broke the deadlock on six minutes, producing a stunning piece of skill to evade his man near the corner of the pitch before cutting in and slotting home.
Leixlip leveled with their first attack, Stephen Smith laying in Paul Storey to score.
Seaford continued to make the running, with Akingbade twice going close to his second, but couldn’t restore their advantage before the break.
And they had a huge let-off straight after the restart when Storey had the entire goal at his mercy six yards out but succeeded only smashing the ball into Smith’s face on the goalline.
Seaford continued to live dangerously, with Alex Akinrontoyo taking advantage of nervous defending to round Oisin Geoghegan, but somehow failed to score in the open goal.
The Penguins bounced back , with Peter Bardon denied by a sensational Jamie Muddiman save when he seemed certain to score, and then a very controversial moment when Jack Keegan’s inch-perfect lob was ruled out for offside.
But Akinrontoyo had the final say on 84 minutes, following in to convert a rebound after Geoghegan had parried to his right, securing a vital win for United and leaving the hosts in big trouble.
