Match Report: Seaford Rock United 4-2 Beggsboro
LSL Sat Major 1B
Seaford made it three league wins from four since the recent change of management with an impressive win over promotion-chasing Beggsboro.
After a tight opening twenty minutes that bore more intensity than quality, Seaford opened the lead when Harry Crowe fed Mike O'Neill, who produced a smart finish to notch his first of the season.
It was quickly 2-0 when from a wonderful Darragh Connolly delivery, Fionn Lawlor was illegally denied from reaching the ball, the referee pointing to the spot for a shirt-pull, and Connolly converted the spot kick.
In the second half, Beggsboro had plenty of possession and peppered Seaford's goal from range without creating much in the way of clear opportunities. Seaford all but sealed but the points through James O'Neill, who headed in at the back post from another Connolly cross.
The visitors gave themselves a lifetline when their number 11 produced a superb finish after cutting in off the left wing, but top scorer Crowe put the outcome beyond doubt with a very soft fourth for Seaford, after his scuffed shot somehow found its way into the net.
There was still time for Beggsboro to notch a conolation goal via a penalty of their own, and also saw a man sent off for dissent, but Seaford held out to take three points and move into mid-table.
