Match Report: Seaford Rock United 0-1 Kilnamanagh
LSL Saturday Major 1
Seaford’s nine-game unbeaten streak came to an end as they lost a scrappy game played in blustery conditions at Rockfield Park.
There chances are both ends during a lovely opening period, with Al Kennedy going close to a brilliant opener on three minutes, but his long-range drive was inches off-target, and Lewis Cawley was similarly close with a bobbling effort from the edge of the box.
For Kilnamanagh, Anthony Hanavey was unable to convert a golden chance after an impressive burst down the left by Luke O’Reilly, and skipper David Nolan also went close but was denied Oisin Geoghegan who managed to smother the ball.
The rest of the match was low on goalmouth action. Brian Connaughton almost made an instant impact for the Rockets off the bench but his free kick rattled the crossbar, but it was Hanavey who made the breakthrough on the hour mark, as he slipped through a porous Seaford defense to slot home.
The Penguins struggled to muster any impetus during the remainder of the game, , failing to trouble keeper Owen Doherty as Kilnamanagh held on comfortably to claim the three points.
