Match Report: Pegasus St James's 0-1 Seaford Rock United
LSL Sat Div 3

Seaford dug deep to plunder a scrappy win and maintain their perfect start to their Division 3 campaign on a bleak evening in Dundrum.
On a poor surface that deteriorated as the rain teemed down, it was clear from the outset that it wouldn't be a game for the purists. The standout moment of a dour first half came from the home side's' dangerous winger Matthew Boland, who skilfully lobbed the ball over Amer Herenda before smashing a volley off the bar on 11 minutes.
Chris Monk had Seaford's two best chances, first heading Gavin Stakelum's corner powerfully downward but straight at keeper Mulvaney, before he got on the end of a smart cross from Peter Tierney, only to see his back-post effort well saved by the Pegs keeper, before late in the half Daire Ralph took matters into his own hands, bursting forward from near the halfway line before unleashing a powerful strike that flew just wide.
If anything, the second half was even less eventful, as Seaford's efforts to build the play patiently were hampered by the sodden turn and early-season rustiness. Tierney was inches from a spectacular strike on 70 minutes, crashing an angled shot against the bar from Jim Nolan's through-ball, before they finally made the breakthrough with less than a quarter of an hour to play.
From touchline free kick near the halfway line, Robbie Murray launched the ball into the mixer. Mulvaney led with his fist, but Monk rose higher, bravely flicking the ball past the keeper, and the ball dropped into the net as the pair clattered onto the ground.
Seaford comfortably repelled the home side's efforts to force an equaliser, with Darren Grealish giving a dominant performance at the heart of the defence, ably assisted by Murray and Herenda, with Luke GInnell a composed presence behind them.
The result means Seaford's second team opened the season with back-to-back wins for the first time in more than ten years under the new management team of Tony Bennett and Dave Devaney.
