UPDATE: BOTH MATCHES HAVE BEEN CALLED OFF DUE TO THE WEATHER
Both Seaford teams are in action at high noon on Saturday, looking to build on good wins a week earlier. After a cup win over Clondalkin Celtic last time out, the firsts return to league action when they travel to face Beggsboro AFC, who sit immediately below them in the LSL Major 1B division. Seaford have seen a recovery in form in recent weeks, winning three league matches on the bounce, whereas their hosts are looking for their first victory of 2018. The teams are already well acquainted, having met twice already during the campaign, with Seaford winning by the odd goal in seven each time. First, a Conor Tobin penalty in extra time saw them through in the LFA Junior Cup, before there was a similar outcome in the league clash a few weeks later, when an MJ Tierney hat-trick saw Seaford prevail. Meanwhile, the seconds host Knockmitten United, fresh from their underdog win over league-leaders Balbriggan last Saturday. Knockmitten still have some work to do to secure safety against relegation, while Tony Bennett’s men will be hoping for back-to-back wins for the first time since the opening week of the season. There was little to choose between the teams during the 2016/17 campaign, as Seaford threw away a commending lead in Clondalkin duringtheir first league encounter, only to get their own back with a 4-3 comeback win at Rockfield Park a month later courtesy of Chris Sastre's late winner, but Knockmitten had the last laugh, securing a win in the Deane Cup group stage when the sides met for a third time in March 2017.
