A good start the season for our Major team, as first half goals from Patryk Szafranski and Chris Monk were enough to secure a 2-1 away win against newly promoted St Vincent's Hospital. The hosts put in an impressive display and put Seaford under second half pressure, but the men in navy were able to hold on a take the points.
The Major men continue their campaign with a quickfire pair of fixtures later in the week, at home to CIE Ranch on Thursday before a Saturday trip to Lucan United. Meanwhile, the Premier have a derby clash to begin the season against Blackrock College at noon on Saturday.

Our Major team for the 2018/19 season will be managed by Alan Burns and Stephen Kelly, with Eoin Dunne and Adam Finnegan in charge of our Premier team.
The Major campaign gets underway with an away fixture against St Vincent's Hospital on Friday 24 August, before a home clash with CIE Ranch on Thursday 30 August. The Premier side will have a final pre-season friendly against Mount Merrion Youths on Monday 27 August, before beginning their league fixtures on Saturday 1 September. Seaford returned to action with a 3-3 draw against local outfit Sallynoggin Pearse.
The home side used the opportunity to take a look at a large number of new players, deploying a completely different team in each half and, with a number of further substitutions as the second period went on, used 28 different players in total. Seaford raced into a 2-0 lead inside four minutes, with goals from debutants Alex Smirnoff and Christian Firth, but Noggin pulled one back almost immediately when a deflected effort squirmed past Simon McGinty. Patryk Szafranski made it 3-1 just before half time, converting from close range after Chris Monk's header was blocked on the line. After Seaford dominated the opening period, the visitors had the better of it as the match wore on, pulling one back just after the break before levelling with 20 minutes to play. |
