Match Report: Newbridge Town 0-2 Seaford Rock United
LSL Saturday Major 1C

Seaford made it back-to-back wins to start the season with an impressive away win at Station Road.
The first half was low on chances on either end, as the visitors largely controlled possession and territory. Jamie McCaul had the first effort of note, smashing a shot just over from 25 yards, before Conor Fennell found space at the edge of the area bus saw his low shot blocked by Robert Abbott’s feet.
At the other end, Corey Corkish had Newbridge’s first opening, but saw his tame effort easily saved by Oisin Geoghegan, before Adam Balmer glanced a header wide from a Paul Roberts delivery.
Seaford took the lead early in the second half when Fennell’s goalbound shot struck a defender’s hand and deflected past Abbott and from that point Seaford never looked like relinquishing fheir advantage.
Fennell saw another deflected effort drop just past the post before Ben Kelly marked his first Seaford start with a goal, nodding home Fennell's corner.
Balmer had the hosts’ best opportunity to get back into the game after a deflection played him onside and through on goal, but he dragged his shot wide of the post.
In the day moments, two of Seaford’s substitutes went to close to adding a third, as Ciaran Staunton fired just wide after having done well to outmuscle a defender, before Des Eiffe almost needed with a spectacular curling effort in injury time.
So it’s six points from six on the opening weekend for Paulie’s Premier Penguins as they prepare to host St Pauls Artane at Rockfield Park next Saturday
