Mark Lawless
Position: D L
Mark not only established himself as the club’s first-choice left back during his first campaign with the club, but was voted Player of the Year for 2008/09, establishing a strong combination down the left side with Niall Duff, Francis Mulhall and Neil Harrington.
Steely in defence and reliable in possession, Mark really came into his own on his bursts forward, showcasing his adhesive close control and effective combination play, with one-twos a particular speciality.
Mark left the club to joint Mount Merrion in 2010, gaining intermediate experience before returning two years later. During his final season before hanging up his boots to concentrate as youth coaching, Mark became a stalwart for the second team, occasionally operating in a more advanced position on the left wing, and in particular he played a major role in their triumph in the Arthur Lynch Cup final 2014.
