LSL Saturday Premier

Seaford’s Premiers got their season back on track with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Larkview Boys under the lights at Whelan Park, Kimmage.
Having failed to score in their previous three games, the Penguins got off to the perfect start when Eoin McArdle’s pin-point free-kick was dispatched clinically by Stephen Kelly from close range within 90 seconds of the kick-off. McArdle then hit a long range effort over the bar, before 20 minutes in, the visitors made it 2-0.
Mate Salacan’s trademark delivery was headed in by Jamie McCaul, much deserved after a strong start to the game. Larkview came out fighting and forced some set-pieces, all of which were superbly dealt with by Oisin Geoghegan domination of his penalty area. 2-0 at the break.
The home team were level with in 15 minutes of the restart. A superb long-range strike from Phillip Cullen halved the deficit before Carl Molony finished off a Larkview move down their left with a low finish into the bottom corner.
Seaford responded well, with Shane Gilroy cutting out a pass to set McCaul up for a shot that Sean Patchell held onto. Geoghegan then produced a brilliant save to deal with low strike to his right. It was a see-saw battle but the Penguins showed great fight to force a winner with 79 minutes on the clock.
Killian Campion burst down the right to play a cross that bounced around the penalty area before it kindly fell to Gilroy at the back post.
A superb rearguard action was needed for the final 11 minutes and 5 minutes of injury time, with Rob Maloney and Ian Nolan keeping the opposition at bay, despite some late pressure.
The Penguins move back up to 3rd and this victory keeps their promotion hopes alive with 5 league games remaining this season
