LSL Sat Div 3
Seaford got their season off to a flying start with a comfortable away win over Hyde Park in Balbriggan.
New manager Tony Bennett handed debuts to Gavin Stakelum and Peter Tierney in what was otherwise a very familiar-looking second team line-up, and his side went on to make amends for a defeat suffered at the same venue during the previous campaign.
On a difficult pitch against a big and physical opponent in Hyde, Seaford's defensive trio of Darren Grealish, Robbie Murray and Adam Finnegan stood out, along with wing men Lauritsch and Howley.
New signing Peter Tierney marked his debut with the openeng goal shortly before half time, finishing low in the corner after being put in on goal by Jim Nolan, and it was two shortly after half time when Laurtisch laid in Daire Ralph, who finished at the second attempt after his initial effort was blocked by the home keeper.
The outcome was put beyond doubt by Howley, who was set up by Tierney to finish left footed, and although Hyde did pull back a consolation goal, Seaford held on comfortably to secure maximum points..
Seaford: Oisin Geoghegan; Amer Herenda, Darren Grealish, Robbie Murray; Adam Finnegan (JP Kennedy, 80), Jim Nolan (Carl Doyle, 70), Gavin Stakelum (Ian Nolan, 60), Shane Lauritsch, Donal Howley; Peter Tierney, Daire Ralph
