Match Report: Glebe North 3-3 Seaford Rock United
LSL Sat Major 1

For the second week in a row, Seaford were left counting the cost of sloppy concessions as they went agonisingly close to a brilliant away win only to fall short at the death.
Despite a squad crippled by injuries, it was a superb first-half display from the Penguins, who opened the scoring when Harry Crowe flicked Oisin Geoghegan's clearance into the path of MJ Tierney, who uncoiled a sublime first-time lob from 35 yards out by the touchline, which gave Alan O'Connor no chance.
Seaford thought they'd doubled their lead when Eoin Mahon finished off the rebound of a Tierney free kick, but he was deemed to have handled the ball before putting it in the net.
And Dan O'Leary was inches from scoring just before half time after a fine solo run, but his left-footed finished was just wide.
But the visitors suffered a catastrophe just 18 seconds into the second half when, before a Glebe North player had even touched the ball, a botched clearance presented Sean Forde with the simplest of finishes from ten yards, to make it 1-1.
From then on the hosts were a different proposition, and pinned Seaford back , particularly after the introduction of Kieran Vickers on the wing. With his first contribution, Vickers cut a mazy run infield from the right win , beating two navy defenders before firing just over.
The Glebe goal came via the penalty spot when Forde was tripped by Conor Geoghegan, as he attempted to make a saving tackle, and Mark Murray beat the younger Geoghegan from 12 yards to make it 2-1.
But minutes later, Tierney finally achieved his lifelong dream of scoring directly from a corner, his viciously swerving delivery evading everyona, including O'Connor at his near post. The lengthening Seaford injury list forced the emergency introduction of goalkeeper David Higgins as a substitute forward, but he netted a brilliant goal to give Seaford an unlikely lead with ten to play, dispossessing Naz Ajaegbo and running through in goal to slot home with his left.
Seaford couldn't quite cling on. On 88 minutes, it was inevitably Vickers who made the crucial difference, bursting down the right wing and drawing another foul in the box. This time Geoghegan got a firm hand to Murray's strike but couldn't keep it out.
And yet, Seaford were left wondering how they didn't plunder all three points. First Tierney forced a spectacular fingertip save from O'Conner with a rasping free-kick, before Higgins went even closer, smashing a powerful drive off the underside of the crossbar.
The draw makes it five points from five games for the Penguins in Saturday Major 1.
