The former Kilkenny City man, who is capable of playing in defence or midfield, came to the club in the summer of 2016 and immediately broke into the first-team ranks, capping a fine debut performance by setting up a late equaliser against St James’s Gate.
A left back by trade, he was, he was redeployed as centre back during a defensive injury crisis early in the reign of new first team manager Stephen Faherty, and responded with some fine displays. He scored his first goal for the club at home to Ringsend Rovers in November 2016, and was one of the team's outstanding performers throughout the campaign.
By now club captain and one of the first names on the teamsheet, Fionn enjoyed further brilliant campaigns in 2017/18 and 2018/19, maintaining his record of being runner up in the .Player of the Year vote in every season since joining the club, before reverting to left back during the Major's promotion push in 2020.
