One of Seaford’s all-time greats, Dan made a huge contribution to both the firsts and the seconds during thirteen seasons with the club.
Standing 6’5”, with superb dribbling ability, physical strength and rocket of a shot off either foot, Dan was a winger for much of his heyday, occasionally turning out in a central midfield role or even centre half on occasion, but towards the end of his long career he made a transition to a centre forward who was equally capable of spectacular solo efforts as poacher’s finishes inside the six yard box.
Remarkably, Dan won no fewer than six top goalscorer awards – three for each of the firsts and the seconds. Perhaps his finest season was in 2013/14, when he averaged more than a goal a game for the seconds and also opened the scoring in the Arthur Lynch Cup final, as the seconds secured the club’s first silverware since the 1997 merger.
Hugely popular amongst this teammates, his final season before hanging up his boots was marred by a groin injury , cruelly suffered after he had won back his first team spot and notched a brilliant brace at home to title-chasing Inchicore. He did manage to return for a final spell with the seconds towards the end of the season, and managed one last screamer - an extraordinary 35-yard rocket on the turn against Valeview Shankill.
