Match Report: Seaford Rock United 5-3 Clontarf
LSL Sat Major 1B

Clontarf gained revenge for Seaford's win over them a week earlier with a deserved 2-0 win in sunny Drumcondra.
In stark contrast to the previous matches between the sides during the previous twelve months, all three of which were won by Seaford, this was a cagey affair with few chances and very little space to exploit on the field. In particular, it was a very frustrated day for the visitors' forward line, who were starved of service and struggled to make any impact.
Seaford had the game's first opening when Jimmy Hussey found Harry Crowe with a drilled pass, but having taken the ball impressively with his chest, Crowe couldn't hit the target with his shot.
But it was a defensive error which led to the opening goal on 33 minutes, as Ciaran Dorney dispossessed Luke Kelly and fired past Eoin English for the third time in a week. Dorney nearly got a second shortly before half time after good work by Michael Winterson down Clontarf's left.
Seaford controlled the second half in terms of possession, but struggled to break down a resolute Clontarf backline, and rarely troubled the Tarf keeper. The closest they came was when Paul Tansey whipped in a left wing cross, which Crowe met with a near-post flick that was just too high.
Seaford always the faced the risk that they would be picked off on the counter-attack as they chased the game and so it proved on 82 minutes when Dorney squared for Craig Bauer to convert.
James O'Neill almost pulled one back for Seaford, but his header from Kelly's deflected shot was straight at Devin Connolly, and Dorney and Bauer combined again for a final Clontarf chance deep in injury time, but the home side saw out the match to take all three points.
Seaford: Eoin English; Jim Nolan (Piers Shelton, 79), Paul Tansey (Fionn Lawlor, 72), Mike O'Neill, Luke Kelly; Neil Harrington, Jimmy Hussey, James O'Neill, Darragh Connolly; Harry Crowe, Stephen Johnson Barker (Paul Lydon, 65).
Clontarf: Devin Connolly, Ger Donagh, Michael Winterson, Craig Banks, David Vos, Brian Kelly (Craig Bauer, 22), Luke Brown (Robbie Byrne, 63), Dave Flynn, Ciaran Dorney, Jesper Frisch, Stephen Patten (Gary Noone, 76). Goals: Dorney (33), Bauer (82)
