Al Kennedy

A strong and quick defender who can also operate in midfield, the former Mount Merrion man signed in September 2019, making his debut off the bench in the Majors' win at Killester Donnycarney. He soon established himself as a fixture in the side as a box-to-box midfielder.
Taking on set-piece responsibilities late in the season, Al netted his first two Seaford goals in the crucial late-season win over Columbas Rovers, and after promotion was secured he excelled in both defence and midfield as Alan Burns's men enjoyed a successful campaign at Major 1 level.
Al raised his level again during the 2021/22 campaign, with 10 goal contributions even though he spent much of the season in central defence, and he was rewarded with the Player of the Year award.
Kennedy was once again a superbly consistent performer during the 2022/23 season, most often operating in a defensive role.
Al remained the team's leader and more reliable performer, and brought up 100 appearances for the club early in the 2024/25 campaign.
